created to glorify Him.

today we went to a hospital for cancer patients and performed the drama. they were so responsive to the drama... laughed, cried & 4 people accepted Christ. you could see the glow on their faces after praying with them. it was so encouraging. we got to talk with the people there for a while. i talked to this one guy who is from beliz and spoke english, which was fun. we got to pray with him and encourage him. after we left the hospital we went to Mcdonalds.. i've never been so happy to eat fast food in my life! it was soo good!
it was a half day today because compassion international brought the kids that our teens sponsored and they got to meet. so, all of us who don't have kids got to chill. i went to the market with some girls... why can't everything in america be dirt cheap? haa. i got some pretty great stuff.
well, we only have 2 more ministry days. saturday is a sightsee/ shopping day ans sunday we leave. can't wait to see you all.

God is good.

I am amazed at how amazing God is.
Monday we had plans to go to a park and perform the drama twice. but, we found out that two other teams had already performed the drama there so, one of our translators knew of a school that we could go to and minister to. As we were headed to the school, i started getting sick like really bad. i got through the drama but sat down while everyone was playing with the kids, which was a bummer. while we were at the school one of our leaders met a local pastor. she talked with him for a while and learned that he was just given a piece of land to use to build a church on. The guy was a non-christian and is going to let him use the land as long as he needs- which i think is really cool. the only problem is that they have no money to start building. so we walked about a mile to the piece of land and spent about 45 min. praying for the pastor and that the funds would come in and that a church would be built. we passed a girl's orphanage on the way back. somehow the owner of the orphanage started talking with our leaders.. he said that the power just went down so, they wouldn't be able to have computer class and he wanted us to come perform our drama... God is amazing! so, we got to play with the girls and perform our drama to them, which was an amazing blessing.
today we went to a neurological hospital for children and then to a school. we also got to go to a grocery store and bought food to hand out to people on the streets. i was so cool to see how thankful they were for something as little as rice and beans.
only 6 more days.. it's a bitter sweet thing, i don't want to leave but i cannot wait to get back and see everyone.

ministry day 1 & 2

Hola! greetings from beautiful Antigua, Guatemala.
these past two days have been absolutely amazing! yesterday we took a 3 hour bus drive up a mountain, full of winding roads- i got kinda sick :/- and then on an hour boat ride across Lake Atitlan to Santiago, Guatemala. There we performed the drama to about 50 people. at least 3 people, that i know of, received Christ. -praise God. afterwards, we got to play with the kids and hand out toys. we hiked back down the mountain and got to shop around in Santiago's market, i got some pretty good stuff.
today we went to an orphanage. The kids are absolutely amazing and being me so much joy. we performed our drama then got to play with the kids for like 4 hours. it was so fun & even though there was a language barrier, we still had fun with them. the orphanage had a huge pile of rocks they wanted us to move. so some of us took turns ( i being one of them) pushing 50 pound wheelbarrows up the street and up a hill.... it was a ton of work & very tiring but, i know the result will help provide a good home for many orphan girls.
God bless, kaitlyn

here!

well we're here in beautiful antigua guatemala!! our ministry day yesterday was amazing.. more to come later but i've gotta head to team time.

almost there...

days. hours. minutes. seconds.

finally the day is here, i'm headed out to Guatemala! words can't even begin to describe my anticipation. my flight goes off at 4:05 & we land in guatemala city at 4:50. & we should be in our hotel by 8ish.

Last night was amazing.. after fuagnem, we had team time. normally, it' s only 45 min. but we spent about an hour and a half together encouraging each other with verses, prayer and singing. My team is amazing and i can't wait to grow closer and closer to them.

--->Pray for our saftey in traveling to day & tomorrow ( we're headed up 2 hours into the mountains to a lake and then traveling to the villages around it.)

in awe of God's love.

Today has been a long but pretty productive day. we worked on the drama non-stop for like 6 hours but, it looks absolutely amazing. Every time i watched our team and the other team perform, the message became clearer and clearer... God's love is amazing! & i'm so thankful for it.
Well, my flight goes out from miami at 4:05 & we're supposed to be in our hotel around 8 (guatemalan time) i am so so so excited to get there! Friday we're going to Lake Atitlan, like last year, and i can't wait to get to the village and minister to the people. please pray that their hearts will be open to the Gospel & that our team would have passion in sharing it.

drama, drama, drama.

Hey everyone! well the first full day in miami has been loonnnggg! we've practiced our drama for 5 hours today! but, the hard work has paid off.. it's looking awesome. our drama coach thought we were doing so well that we got to end practice early (thank goodness, because i would have no other time to update this.. we're SO busy!)
My roommates & team are amazing... it's so encouraging to be around new people, and though you are all so different and don't really know each other.. we know that one thing we have in common & that's that we are children of the King.
